No Age: Nouns (Sub Pop)

This LA duo‘s first proper album sputters adrenalized bursts of glorious guitar-and-drum noisemaking, scattered with ambient strains. Drummer/vocalist Dean Spunt plays as if he’s always slightly ahead of the beat, urging each track forward with a raucous, on-edge vitality most bands reserve only for their live show.
