Now, we all know some pro athletes are overpaid (talking to you again T-Mac). Some are actually deserving of the $100-million-plus contracts they ink, such as Manny Ramirez when he signed with the Red Sox and proceeded to be a hitting machine for eight straight seasons. More often than not, though, throwing that kind of money at an athlete is akin to blowing it on strippers (if that athlete is of the Pacman Jones variety).

Case in point: another Dominican star, Alfonso Soriano.  The Cubs outfielder signed a $136 million contract a few seasons ago.  I’m sure the North siders in Chicago think he’s worth all that cash considering they haven’t won a World Series trophy since 1908.  And while he’s no Pacman Jones, he too prefers not to keep extra coin in the pocket….

First off, Hummers don’t come in “I blame 100 years of suckage on a goddamn billy goat” blue. Secondly, Bachata doesn’t have that much bass.

So remember, unlike the pros, college athletes are only rewarded with campus sluts, free cars, free grades and fresh jockstraps (I assume). Foggy translation: They play for the “love of  the game.” That should be enough reason to tune in tonight.

The Sweet Sixteen continues today.
