50’s movie career was left in ruins after Righteous Kill.  Or so we thought.  Mr. Jackson has nabbed a role in the upcoming film 13, a remake of the French film 13 Tzameti.

The rapper should be thanking his lucky stars after the failure of Kill. Boasting a one-two punch for the ages with DeNiro and Pacino sharing substantial screen time together, the film was 50’s chance to ride the coattails of a great cast, if need be.  But then people saw it and bore witness to the critics’ claims of the cast mailing in their parts.

It seemed that 50 would have to settle for the upcoming Before I Self Destruct film to be his Spartacus, but 13 has relieved him of such impending misfortune (even if he only has a supporting role).  The original won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in ’06 and its writer/director is on tap for the remake.  The plot follows a young man who stumbles upon instructions that could land him a fortune but instead lead him to unfortunate situations such as the absolutely sick one below:
