The Dark Knight
Anticipation for Christopher Nolan’s Bat-sequel had been building ever since the first images of Heath Ledger’s Joker hit the Interwebs in late ’07, but it was this initial two-minute trailer that kicked the enthusiasm into overdrive. From the sweeping shots of the Caped Crusader standing atop a Hong Kong skyscraper, to the buildup to the first glimpse of Ledger’s painted face, the teaser showed that The Dark Knight was going to be unlike any big-screen Batman we had seen yet. There are a lot of reasons why the film grossed more than $500 million at the box office and you can bet that this trailer is responsible for a good chunk of those profits.
