Cloverfield

Okay, so the movie didn’t really live up to the hype.  Still, you can’t deny that it was the trailer that turned this Blair Witch-style disaster movie into a one-weekend wonder at the box office.  The Internet was abuzz with rumors about the movie ever since this teaser debuted in theaters last summer.  Debate ranged on endlessly over what the film was about, who the monster was and what the title meant.  In fact, this may be one of those rare cases where audiences were more satisfied with the trailer than the movie itself.
