The cast of In Bruges

I’m cheating a bit here, but all of these actors are in such fine form in Martin McDonagh’s offbeat crime comedy that I just can’t choose between them.  On the one hand, you’ve got a post-rehab Colin Farrell doing some of the best work of his career as a novice hitman plagued by guilt over a mission gone wrong.  But you’ve also got ace character actor Brendan Gleeson as the veteran assassin, who both sympathizes with his partner and wishes he’d get over himself already.  Last, but certainly not least, there’s the usually restrained Ralph Fiennes channeling Ben Kingsley’s Sexy Beast turn as Farrell and Gleeson’s foul-mouthed boss, who lives by a peculiar code of conduct.  Put all three of them together in the same movie and you’ve got 2008′s best ensemble cast.
