Temperature: High 70s to low 80s (Not bad when coming from a high of freezing!)
Flight (to Honolulu, Hawaii): 10.5 hrs from NYC, 5 hrs from LA and 9 hrs from the Chi
The commute is pretty extensive so be prepared. Bring reading material, a killer playlist and snacks (since they seem to charge extra on the plane).

Reasons to go:
The sunset is ridiculous, very dramatic. The colors of pinks, purples and reds fill the sky as you watch the sun sink into the ocean. To really set the mood, many hotels even prepare a picnic basket for the occasion or you can do your own thing and pick up supplies from the local grocery store.
If you consider going to Maui while in Hawaii be sure to check out the sunrise on Haleakala mountain. Bring a blanket and make it memorable while snuggling up under a blanket.
Some other romantic indulges…
Imagine a couples massage…lying side-by-side on the beach while listening to the crashing waves from the ocean. Ahhhh… Although the prices are a bit steep, Hawaii has been known to offer some of the top spas in the country, so I’m sure it’s worth it. Do your research and book an appointment online in advance. The availability often fills up quickly.
Their golf courses are pretty extraordinary and rather intoxicating when you’re with someone special. Lanai has two courses and two resorts offering the most personal golf experience.
But what’s a vacation without a little nightlife to heat things up?! Chinatown located on Oahu may just have what you’re looking for. Whether it be a wine bar or jazz club you both may find the most adventurous underground bar-hopping. Check out Hotel Street (between Smith and Nuuanu) and you’ll find live music at Next Door, Bar 35 and thirtyninehotel or DJs just mixing it up. The best description of this scene would be a taste of New York in Honolulu.
Big Island… now this place is on a whole other scale by epic proportions. Yet, it’s the little things here in which you’ll certainly want to relive over and again. From cozy snapshots together by the waterfall (along the Hamakua coast) to the sea of stars in the dark sky above Mauna Kea to sipping wine during a sunset on the Gold Coast of Kahala, there are an abundance of settings to scope.
However, if you’re looking for seclusion then Lanai would be your place. It’s landscape is absolutely stunning, with areas such as the Hulopoe Bay or the Sweetheart Rock every moment spent here is treasured. You can stroll the beach in Lanai and the only other person you can see is the one next to you.
There’s so much beauty on all the islands making Hawaii a great romantic escape!
