Oh my god he looked so much like Malcolm Sr when he put the suit and stuff on. I do think that maybe is mom wasn’t really ready to be a mother and had sum problems….i saw the movie of Malcolm X and i see how History is almost repeating it’s self. How Malcolm X’s dad was killed and his mom no longer could do for her kids and malcolm was in homes and was a troubled young boy and teen and his mother with her illness. I think u are strong and i respect u for coming out and sharing ypor story and standing up for what u did. You were a kid but your a man now and to come out and talk about these things shows that. Your Grandfather was a great man i did alot of reports on him in school. Stay strong cause your future is bright i know it is you have a purpose.

…what can I say, but, I was speechless. Tears ran down my face and I don’t know why either. Maybe because the story is so powerful. Malcolm Shabazz is powerful even if he doesn’t know the extent of it yet. He is a very handsome young man and will go far. It’s a wonderful thing for an individual to experience the hardships of life. It makes for a magnificent individual in the end.

This guy isnt all of sudden powerful. He isnt this powerful speaker like his grandfather. But people are so fackin weak, they want X grandson to carry on his legacy.

Leave his grandson alone, you people that says hes powerful are some weak sons-a-bit%$es and it hurts to see this happening. Again keep your weak mind to yourself. Let him live his life.

Its great to see this image, but the image of Malcolm with a gun isn’t a game. It means a lot to some people and you people shouldn’t play around with this. Its serious business, Malik gave people hope.

I cried when I read this account and later saw the video.
I was a professional singer of 18 years old when I first heard Minister Malcolm X (later al Hajj Malik al Shabazz). I remember stopping in my tracks at the sheer power of this man’s voice. But the content of his words was what floored me! I was absolutely mesmerized….his was the voice I had waited so many years to hear. To me, he was THE VOICE OF FREEDOM. After a while, whenever the members of my group couldn’t find me, someone invariably asked: ‘Is Minister Malcolm in town? If he is, find out where he is speaking and you will find (Fakeer).’
There was no hate in Malcolm’s voice. All I heard was the kind of encouragement my generation was hungry for. We longed for the day when we would be treated like people instead of “Negros”; like men instead of “n****rs”.
What Malcolm X did was show us how to free our minds from the invisible mental shackles that turned us against each other and gave us renewed respect and admiration for ourselves, each other and the women in our lives.
I never heard Malcolm X call a woman “a b***h”; and, he never referred to us as ‘n****rs’ in any way other than to illustrate the ways it is used to denigrate us.
When Malcolm came home, after making Hajj, he began to outline his national strategy to unify young people of all races and religions complete with workable programs to alleviate the affects and destruction centuries of slavery, racism and ‘apartheid’(racial segregation)had done to our country. His approach was totally committed to education.
We (those of us who were followers) loved Malcolm and were devastated when he was unceremoniously murdered in front of his wife and children; a barbaric and cowardly act that still resonates in our communities.
Malcolm was about more than the phrase: “By any means necessary”. He was a Muslim; a father, who loved his family; an educator; a motivator; a true leader who never asked us to do anything to create crime and/or criminality. He was all about the love of self and kind; and, not in any singularly racial way. He loved and respected all kinds of people but he would not be subservient to racist politics designed to belittle people of African descent. Above all, we loved the fact that he was a man of his word. When he spoke he told the truth.
I only hope and pray that his daughters will find their way back to the greatness of their father; and, that his grandson will live up to his own potential and find peace in this life and the life to come. PEACE!
