GIANT’s Oct/Nov ’08 cover star T.I. was crowned the king of the charts when his sixth studio album Paper Trail (Grand Hustle/Atlantic), moved 568,000 units during its first week of release.
T.I. also managed to best his own record as his current chart topper with “Live Your Life (feat. Rihanna)” as the song went from #80 on the charts to the number #1 spot, making it the biggest one week ever leap to the top in the history of Billboard. His first single, “Whatever You Like” had previously occupied that spot.
In addition to T.I.’s own personal success, Paper Trail is also his label Atlantic Records’ biggest-ever one-week scan since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.
