Nas and Damien Marley announced today that they are currently in the studio recording a collaborative album entitled Distant Relatives. Set for release this summer, the album will feature the Grammy-award winning musicianship of Damien—youngest son of the most revered artist in reggae—and the hard-hitting, but often controversial lyrics of hip-hop head Nas. As this isn’t the first time the two have joined forces—“Road to Zion” was a superior track on the former’s acclaimed album Welcome to Jamrock—the men have decided to title their latest project after both their bond to each other and to their African ancestry.
You can also expect an international tour following the album’s release but why wait when you can peep them headlining at this year’s Rock the Bells fest, where they promise to deliver the “soundtrack to global change.”
