Congrats to Sri-Lankan artist M.I.A for delivering her first child, a baby boy, this past Wednesday.
“Sunday nite I came home from The Grammys still in the mood to party,” she wrote on her Myspace page. “I coulda easily gone out but I went home instead. Lucky I did! Coz my early stage labour kicked in around 2 a.m.”
You’ll recall that a very pregnant sauntered up and down the Grammy stage for T.I., Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West’s performance of “Swagger Like Us” during the 51st Grammy Awards.
The singer didn’t release the name of her child, (the child’s father is Benjamin Bronfman, the son of the chairman of Warner Music Group,) did say that “Me and baby are putting our tour dates for 2010 together and making mix tapes and figuring out a way to break out of the hospital.”
