Righteous Kill
It was obvious from the trailer, which smacked of “direct to DVD” fodder, that Righteous Kill was going to be, at best, a generic crime thriller. Still, you had to give stars Robert De Niro and Al Pacino the benefit of the doubt—these two acting icons wouldn’t team up for the same picture if there weren’t something of value in the script, right? Wrong. I love ‘em both to death, but Bobby and Al did this horribly written, ineptly directed picture for the money, plain and simple. And even after they cashed their sizeable paychecks, neither actor put much effort into acting out this tired scenario, which has them playing NYPD officers tasked with finding a possible traitor in their midst. Hope you used the cash on something fun boys, because your fans certainly didn’t get anything worthwhile out of this steaming pile of celluloid.
