Trailer of the Week: Here’s Raaaaaaandy!

Aziz Ansari launches an awesome viral campaign for Funny People

I’ve already seen Judd Apatow’s new comedy Funny People, which stars Adam Sandler as a dying movie star who forms an odd-couple friendship with a young comic played by Seth Rogen, but I have to wait a few weeks before I can offer my official verdict. What I can say is that scene-stealer Aziz Ansari turns in yet another hysterical supporting performance as a vulgar Dane Cook-like stand-up named Randy. When I spoke with Anzari earlier this year, he revealed he was doing a whole documentary about this character that would be included as a bonus feature on the Funny People DVD. Fortunately, you don’t have to wait that long to get your first taste of Raaaandy. Five minutes from the mockumentary were posted on Funny Or Die the other day and it’s fantastic stuff. Check out the clip below (warning: it ain’t safe for work) and the red-band trailer for the film, which hits theaters July 31.
