Lyrics personfied been listenin to the god since i was 14 15 years old he and big daddy kane, along iwth the blastmaster krs-one changed hip hop foreva some of these cats should be payin these cats collateral for the some of the material they took from Ra. Rakim and Kane brought high self esteem and made it cool to be domainate and darkskin and they were mainly responsible for bringin me into the 5%nation of Islam

OK here's the problem. Assuming Rakim still has something to say on record, why hasn't he dropped anything?

Why not use one of the newer school underground producers to bring a fresh sound to a classic voice?

You don't think Madlid, El-P, DangerMouse, 9th Wonder, etc. wouldn't break their necks to do the Rakim album?

I just don't think he has anything left to say that he didn't already perfect in the 80s. But if you give some young visionary producers the opportunity to inject their enthusiasm and technique we could see a classic piece of work.

I cant say that there is one mc whos the greatest. They all, including the women mcs, have their own style and culture to bring to hip hop. I can say that bro Rakim is one of the best. Always conscious and always alert.

Rakim's comments on the need for the preservation of the music and history of hip hop were right on point. This was probably humble I've heard a hip hop artist be in any medium and definitely a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to hearing what he has to say in future articles and music

Rah. WAs the greatest MC of all time. Put his body of work against anybody's and all opposition fails miserably. Song for Song.. Value vs Value.. Hit against Hit. There isnt one Mc that really messes with dude on Lyricism, Radio cuts, etc. I'm a huge Big fan but I still got to give it to Rah for his music's effect on the culture and our people. Rah is the G.O.A.T...R.I.P Big
