When T.I., Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne took the stage to perform “Swagger Like Us” at the 2009 Grammy Awards on Sunday in tuxedos, it was clear that hip hop is changing it’s stylo…at least for some artists. Then Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Smokey Robinson and Abdul “Duke” Fakir did their Motown tribute in black-tie, it was officially a new satorial day. The look of The Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.) is back. Check out some other fly guys in black tie.

uhm… kanye and his shag need to go… it’s not bad i guess… but now he looks like my uncle… this is like the “retro” style which was attempted by some people and only those select can rock it, and others who attempt to will fail miserably and kanye will fall in this category. i don’t think anyone styles themselves after this anymore and if anyone up there thinks about it, these were the only three rappers who would agree on something like this in terms of styling… can you imagine 50 up there in that or rick ross wit a c**ber bun without his “fat man” towel? no way, but it does give another way to perceive the people behind the music…

i missed the performance. but i gotta say this. tuxedo’s have always been the attire of distinguished gentlemen. black tie affairs are attended by the most elite. when u see people of our generation rocking tux’s (no matter how broke they are or how f**ked up their hair is) they appear regal, majestic, even important. but in the entertainment world, the rat pack was known for tux’s, stogies, and cognac. so its only natural for those 3 (shoulda ben 4) to come out rockin the finest rentables out. i cant knock their hustle. pause for a second……they did the tux thing in the roc boy video too didnt they? its solidified, im rockin a tux to work tomorrow- with some black and white jordans and a sox fitted. no one in mcdonalds had a swagger like i. word? and im too hot to cook fries…..just playin yall….all is one!
