Vivian Girls

ESSENTIAL LISTENING: Reverb is queen for these Brooklyn ladies. Striking a balance of rough and rowdy and sugar-sweet, Vivian Girls dish brief pop nuggets nailed with hard-driven intensity and Ronnettes harmonies. Were it released decades ago, their self-titled debut (In the Red) might have found its way into the record collection of a teenage Kurt Cobain. Stream an uncharacteristically subdued track after the jump.
