Irv Gotti Is Still Salty
No disrespect to Irv—he blessed the world with “I’m Real” and Vanessa Carlton’s last album.
Jokes aside, in speaking to MTV recently about the game’s best emcees (seen below), Irv Gotti made good points about Eminem putting out too much “clown shit” (mos def) and perhaps not being able to spit under pressure. We all saw 8 Mile so he has a point.
But Irv brought up a hypothetical cipher between Em, Jay, and Crackhead Earl DMX.
“[Em] would have been like, ‘My name is Em and I eat M&Ms. I eat you.’ What?” Gotti laughed. Irv told MTV the Detroit legend would have been greeted with four harsh words: “Shut the fuck up! It would have been a ’shut the fuck up’ moment off the top. Dame [Dash] would have been like, ‘Look at him. He’s crunchy!”
Nah, Em would’ve been like, “My name is Shady and I eat dudes like X and Jay-Z with Chianti and fava beans…” Just some usual serial killer demented shit.
Irv, denying he has any beef with Mr. Mathers, talked about Em being overrated by MTV as their #1 emcee ever, claiming Jay should take top spot (agreed), but to dismiss Em as some cornball just seems like dude still has a bone to pick because Em ushered in the Murder Inc.-crushing 50 Cent. And now Ja can’t buy a hit.
Em might not be numero uno, but he helped dead your whole movement, Irv. And unlike Ja or even X, he’s still standing.

Yo I am not an EM fan but lets get real, Jay might be one of the most PAID rappers ever but he is no where near the best. For example I am STILL waiting for Jay to come back off the Ether that Nas gave him! Still, years later.
And speaking of Jay and Em, Em killed Jay on the song Renegade.
I like Irv but this is the dude that puts out rap music from Ja Rule! Last I looked doesn’t Ja Rule sing or something? Oh yeah he is confused and was exposed by 50!

Irv is chuck full of salt! His artists ran out of stuff to say so they started “whining” about “love & drugs” and the crap didn’t work. If you that mad, come up with sumthin better…..

If Irv was relevant to music his opinion might hold some validity. The whole murda inc camp didnt contribute anything that would stand the test of time. Irv is now a second rate reality show circus. Thats the last stage of a dead act.

Let him rap about what the f**k he wants. Eminem’s new album Relapse is based on what went on in his life after Proof got killed. Irv think he better..But when have you seen them whack a** fools he brought out make an album? F**k the stuff w/ Jay z.
