After hearing “Hey Joe” (listen to the track below), I have to wonder why more producers haven’t already swarmed Jimi Hendrix’s catalog looking for samples to flip.
DJ Infamous, the song’s producer, could’ve given this track to damn near anybody named Joe and had a winner, even though he’s playing with fire squeezing the juice from such a classic work from the rock legend. And I dont listen to SNAP music… just incase you decided to comment on that. With the exception of a few artists out there (such as Jigga, Nas, etc) HIP-HOP IS DEAD…. and its been dead for a while… Anytime you get a song on the radio talkin bout DO THA STANKY LEG…. i think we just need to come to terms with the fact, music wont be the same anymore. Because if thats what people are bangin in the whip these days, hip-hop has NO CHANCE of EVER being like it was.
SUTRA…. are you serious. Hip-Hop yes, is about the ARTISTRY of the music…. but can you honestly say there was ANYTHING about that song that screamed originality??? NO… Just a few years ago Trick Daddy used an Ozzy Osborne clip for “Let’s Go”. It isnt the 1st time these artists sample music from the 70’s era. And if you actually listen… HE”S TALKIN BOUT 50…. so how is that not a niga die slow concept? I bet the song dont last 2 weeks on tha radio… and that(besides underground) is who JOE counts on 2 make his money. He aint BIG PUN… neva will b. And seriously Suptra… ORIGINALITY… would be for them to stop stealin otha ppls lyrics, and sampleing everyones elses music, and come up wit their own beat.

yo this song is hot. all the people that’s saying its wack most likely listen to snap music fake rap s**t. its original to what other rappers are doing right now. funny because that’s what hip hop is suppose to be, not every body rapping the same way talking about the same two subjects,money and nigga die slow concepts. ya’ll be easy.
Good idea but porly done….There was no effort put into this track..Sad to say but people (some) those who really just want something to bang in the whip will love this..Others ( with an appreciation for the music) I imagine are running for the toilet bowl…Once again, GOOD idea POORLY executed…Surprised joe actually felt anything in the booth!!!! ok im really not feeling this s**t joey is aight sometimes but i his breathy, halting flow is annoying over instrumentals like these which was the best thing about the track, maybe if his vocals is laid over a cool & dre beat it would sound better or even e-class
Joey Crack has held down hip hop since I was a kid. Even when hip hop was going down the tubes Fat Joe was still keeping it hot.
