R&B singer Omarion recently signed a deal with Lil Wayne’s Young Money/Cash Money label. The former B2K lead singer that had been rumored to sign with Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group is now joining the hot talent of phenom rapper/singer Drake and up-and-comer Nicki Minaj.

Still under the management of Chris Stokes and TUG the young R&B swooner is currently working on his third solo album. The release date is in the works.

Omarion signing with Wayne does not surprise me. At the end of the day it’s all about how much money is in their pockets. With Tha Carter III going platinum in one week I don’t think Wayne and his label are hurting when it comes to the bank accounts. I’m sure they are holding large amounts. But the name Lil Wayne comes with a lot more then money. Lil Wayne has creating a stereotype that will be carried on his shoulders. Does Omarion want to associate himself with some of these stereotypes? Do you think signing with Timbaland would of been a better choice?
