Israeli street artist Know Hope’s exhibit at the Ad Hoc Art Gallery in Brooklyn is straight-up amazing. He is known worldwide for pieces that focus on one set of stringy characters, which are featured scaled down and drawn on cardboard for the gallery. His illest street work are his lanterns (pictured above) where he inserts a candle into a temporary sculpture on the street.
With his latest show, titled “The Insecurities of Time,” Know Hope continues to obsess over time and the ephemerality of his medium. Fusing gallery skills and street edge, the work is somber, hopeful and fresh.
