According to the Associated Press, Lebron James, the 24-year-old star player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, is expected to be named the most valuable player of the NBA today, May 4.
James will be the youngest player to receive the award since Moses Malone took it from 1978-1979. He will also be the first Cavalier.
The star athlete has had a phenomenal season, averaging 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists.
James chose his high school alma mater Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Ohio to receive the award.
