Mythology, murder and resurrection. The cast of Notorious discusses the challenges and thrills of making controversial Biggie Smalls biopic. Actors Derek Luke, Anthony Mackie and newcomer Jamal Woolard talk about art imitating life and portraying legends in our own time.

It was all a dream…in a desolate building in Brooklyn, around a large wooden table. Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G” Wallace, Sean ”Puffy” Combs and Tupac Shakur are animatedly talking. Chopping it up. In fact, they’re laughing Although Wallace and Shakur were slain more then a decade ago, life after death is summoned in Notorious, director George Tillman Jr.’s Biggie Smalls biopic. Jamal Woolard — the Brooklyn rapper best known as Gravy — plays B.I.G. Derek Luke is Puffy, and Anthony Mackie is Tupac. GIANT joins the actors to discuss what it’s like to embody legends and carry the weight of a legacy. Needless to say, it’s juicy. – JUSTIN MONROE
