Dr. Burke Back In the Game?
By GIANT Oct 12, 2009
Finding new job opportunities for Dr. Burke (Isaiah Washington).
Isaiah Washington, or as we all remember him – Dr. Burke, still hasn’t showed up at Grey’s Anatomy – or anywhere else for that matter. When he got kicked off the TV show, in June 2007, for calling Dr. O’Malley (played by T.R. Knight) a bad word, somehow his whole career fell apart.
But now that T.R. Knight himself is out of the show (Dr. O’Malley dying and all), maybe Isaiah could get back his shot at fame on Grey’s? If not, we have a few ideas on what he could try out for…

Grey’s Anatomy has never been the same since Isaiah Washington left or was exited from the show. [And my understanding is NOT that he said anything TO T.R. Knight, but rather made an inference to someone else -- who was late for rehearsal and retorted to Washington's protest about the lateness -- that the respondent should be aware, because he himself was nobody's "faggxt." After that others took offense and things spun out of control; then he got the axe. I thought he got a rough and unfair deal, which he proceeded to make worse for himself.]
I attempted to boycott the next season and have had very little to do with it ever since. Just to keep in touch with what is going on, I view a few at various times since the 3rd season. In the only one I’ve seen this season I heard a few words of regret from his former fiancee. I wondered it that were a signal for his upcoming entre — but nothing happened since.
It appears to me that the network could hardly stand to have the combination of two powerful Black men on one TV show. What is worse, it never felt the need to replace another Black man in some type of leadership role to fill the vacancy. Even the new interns have not African-Americans — males nor females who get much more than a stroll acrosss the screen at times — but little to no lines. They can’t seem to stand to involve a plot or scene of some serious magnitude with another Black professional staff person. What is more astounding is that this is done regardless of the fact that the writer is an African-American. Guess she has little influence in the role selection process. Nevertheless, I would LOVE to see Isaiah Washington return. He NEEDS to in order to “round out the entire plot” — what is more HE DESERVES TO BE GIVEN THIS OPPOTUNITY.
I WOULD LOVE IT IF ISAIAH WAS BACK ON GREY’S ANATOMY…I DOUBT IT’LL HAPPEN..BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT
